I think you’re generalizing too much about archeologists. This one guy doesn’t represent them from what I’ve seen. I learned all about Gobekli Tepe from science news reporting research about the site long before Joe Rogan and Graham Hancock started talking about it. I think the majority of them are pretty excited about it and have discarded their previous theories in light of the new evidence.

Whether people like it or not it is a part of our history. You can’t just remove it and thus remove the history of a place or events that happened. They are reminders of a different time in which we can still learn a lot from. We need to stop trying to erase things of the past we don’t agree with.

Our 'Ice Age' ancestors were as advanced mentally as we are today. What they came up with to deal with their realities were just as amazing as what we have, albeit with more accumulated knowledge today. I have found it is wise never to underestimate what the human mind can come up with, not today or 20,000 years ago.

I'm absolutely no expert but I've taken several courses in archaeology and ancient history and I know how careful we have to be to get our facts right...and how easily the real experts dislike anyone coming up with some thoughts of their own! My view - Age of stone and wood, GT was made of stone because that was available, little wood. While other areas would be mostly wood with little stone, thus wooden monuments could have been many but none have survived. It' all about religion, yes our ancient ancestors were more brain washed than those today. j

I think modern humans vanity automatically project modern ideals upon ancient peoples. We have Zero idea what the artefact is, what its purpose was, who wore it or why. We don't know whether it was sacred, ceremonial, religious or simply a costume piece for their latest theatre production. Not every artefact has to be explained in modern terms. It is 50 Thousand Years old. What it Is is a precious piece of ancient hominid history.
